"On June 9 - 10, 2007, seven friends walked for 20 miles through the night in New York City, along with over 2,000 others, for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's "Out of the Darkness Overnight." We walked to raise money and awareness for suicide and mental illness. It was a powerful journey, as many of us walked in memory of our dear friend, Valerie, and for others close to us. Our team's shirt was adorned with a picture of an angel Valerie had drawn and our team name, Nika, was for her beloved cat. We wore our custom ink shirts proudly! Thanks, customink!" -
