"My father passed away from pancreatic cancer on 8/5/2009, so our extended family decided to walk in the Pancan Detroit walk just a month and a half later. Even though we had a small team and only 1.5 months to raise money, we raised the second highest amount of any team there! We felt his absence greatly but commemorated him with our t-shirts displaying his favorite pastime - boating. Working with CustomInk was great. "On May 2nd, 2009, 80 tshirts were passed out to friends and family supporting our cause. We walked as a giant team downtown Chicago at Lincoln Park in the PurpleStride 2009. We have lost numerous friends and family to the cause and had a great turnout of support this year. We finished the day with a picnic at our house to thank everyone for their love and support (as shown in photo) We want to thank Customink.com for allowing us our team to stand out among 3,000 other people all wearing the purple tshirts given at the walk. "Saturday, September 6th was a glorious day in Golden Colorado! Nearly 900 individuals gathered for the Golden Gallop which is a 10K run, 5K walk/run, and a 1K kids fun run to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and to raise money to fight this horrible disease. Team Jeanette was formed last year when my mother, Jeanette Adelman, age 66, passed away from pancreatic cancer after a 5 month and 12 day fight with the disease. This disease only has a 5% five year survival rate and most victims do not survive their first year. Last year, there were about 15 people on Team Jeanette and this year our group was 39 members strong! The Golden Gallop will always be the event we participate in to honor my mother and all of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Our Custom Ink tshirts stood out in the crowd and we will wear them proudly (not just for this event). We are already planning our reorder for those that did not get a shirt the first time around. Thanks to Custom Ink for a great product and great service as well as for their contribution to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the Golden Gallop."
